Webanswers Review

Updated on February 1, 2013

Introduction

Webanswers is a question and answer site, but with a twist.  In exchange for asking and answering questions, it is possible to earn money through Google Adsense revenue sharing.  But how does it work?  And are the rewards worth the work?

How can money be earned on Webanswers?

Many people question how money is earned on webanswers and whether it is a scam. Like many websites, Webanswers makes money from advertising. However, advertising only brings in money if people view the pages. The owner of Webanswers has decided that question and answer sites get a lot of web traffic and so has targeted this market. The advertising used on the site is Google Adsense (those little blocks which say Ads by Google).

To encourage people to sign up and contribute to the site the owner of Webanswers has allowed Adsense revenue sharing on pages which they contribute to. The idea of Google Adsense revenue sharing is that sometimes the owners adverts are shown, but other times the contributors adverts are shown. As such, to earn from Webanswers there is the need to already have a Google Adsense account.  This means that Webanswers website is not running a scam website whereby it makes you earn money and then keeps it since the company never touches your earnings.

Once signed up money can be earned in several ways. Asking and answering questions results in your Google Adsense code being shown on these pages (and therefore the potential to earn money). However, when the answer is awarded (the asker decides which answer is best) the views all go to the person who wrote the correct answer. The code also appears elsewhere on the site in proportion to the activity of an individual on the site and so there is the potential to earn extra money through this.

How much money can be made through Webanswers?

It is all very well me saying it is possible to make money on Webanswers but I am sure what you really want to know is how much money can be made on Webanswers as I am sure you aren't going to take part in a site if the earnings are tiny. I have still managed to earn what I would consider to be a reasonable amount over a year despite only spending about 10 hours on the site in total and so I shall put the values here.  Whilst it started low, the amounts jumped in August and have stayed high ever since.  The latest updates can be found on my blog, A little extra money uk.

As can be seen a large amount of money can be earned. My earnings have continued into later months at this higher rate and so I have made hundreds and hundreds of dollars from just answering questions and I am probably earning the equivalent of over $50/hour.

If you like the sound of Webanswers, why not sign up now (full disclosure - this is an affiliate link so I earn money for signing up new members.  However, I only share part of Webanswers Google Adsense impressions and so you don't lose anything by signing up through this link.  Plus this means I only earn money if you do!).
